Does anyone here enjoy classical music?

I never used to, but in the past few months I've been finding little things that I really, really fall in love with. Does anyone else like it?

At the moment, I've spent a lot of time listening to Franz Liszt's Totentanz.

Performed by Enrico Pace.
Part 2.

It's really, really good. I'd imagine fans of Devin Townsend would find some things to like in this little piece, but I could be wrong - I don't know.

Reminds you of Robert Duvall in a Stetson?

Anyway, yes, I enjoy some classical music, too.

I'm at a music school now, and all we study is classical. Still hate 99% of it, but I do enjoy Dvorak and Ligeti.

I most likely won't be able to name a large variety of composers, but yes, I do enjoy classical music. Some composers' work actually reminds me a great deal of metal, in terms of structure and the uh... 'riffs?' what would you call that in classical?

I enjoy it. Dvorak, Mahler, and Bach are all favourites.
I am also a classical guitarist, and there are some excellent composers for the instrument. Barrios, Torroba, and Rodrigo are all great. You don't have to like "traditional" orchestral or chamber music to enjoy it, so I would suggest checking them out.

I enjoy a whole other kind of Dvorak.

Although I usually prefer heavy music, I think classical music is the "best", most quality form of music. It's high-end.
Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Strauss, Khatchaturian, Ligeti, Hanson, Sibelius... All great.

Right now I am really into Johannes Brahms' Hungarian Dances. You might know the Hungarian Dance No. 5 from Charlie Chaplin's "The Great Dictator" (the shaving scene). Check them out, many of you will like them I'm sure!

I sometimes enjoy the occasional classical. There's just something too traditional and "safe" in the musical sense about most of it to make me really listen to it as much as I listen to ambient, metal and industrial.

My favourites are Sibelius' Finlandia, Bach's 3rd Concerto and of course Toccata & Fugue in Dmin, Prokofiev's violin pieces, Rahmaninoff (pretty much everything) and Vivaldi's 4th Concerto.

Check out György Ligeti then! You know the whacky soundtrack sections of 2001: A Space Odyssey, don't you?

I like Sergej Rachmaninoff´s "The Isle of the Dead" (tone poem for full orchestra after a painting by Arnold Böcklin) very much.

It´s not "classical" (like Beethoven) or "baroque" (like Bach), but quite emotional, and it tells a story (it´s a "tone poem" like maybe "Die Moldau").
