I examine trade mark applications for a federal government department. Basically I debate the registrability of new trade marks with attorneys, solicitors and private applicants.

Been in the job for about 6 months and starting to get something of a handle on it now.

Prior to this job I was in a more law-enforcementish department (not the police force) so it's taken some time to wrap my head around a new set of legislation and a new way of thinking.

I love the relative stability and good conditions of the public service, especially with a baby on the way, so I will probably stay in the employ of the Government for a long time.

I'm a full-time nursing student. If all goes well I'll be a nurse in january 2012.
This summer I'm gonna work at the ER, wich is pretty scary since I've only worked at the stroke unit before and while there could be a lot of stress there there was rarely any emergencies. So I hope I'll be able to stand the extra emotional stress that comes with dealing with victims of domestic violence and rape. And children dying, and children losing their parents. :|
