I think it's pretty fucked that they wouldn't let him take a breather to recharge his batteries, or even let him come back while a replacement fills in. That seems hardly mature for a band that's been around for 25 years. No wonder Sherinian left.

This is exactly my thoughts on the matter. I fucking hate Dream Theatre so I couldn't give a fuck who's gone or who's in or who's a stupid cunt with an awful voice but just the sheer lack of respect shown by not letting the guy take a break is staggering. He should've told them all to go fuck themselves if that was their attitude.

D'awww, although I stopped caring about Dream Theater after Scenes From A Memory. I did see them live on their Systematic Chaos tour, which was kinda cool.

Hopefully he'll come back with something good in the future, and not do a Phil Collins and keep singing.

I stopped caring for DT in 2009, and Mike was the member I disliked the most, even though he was the "leader" dude of the band. If they release another album I'll definitely listen to it, but I wonder who will replace Mr I-Crave-Attention.

They're all douchebags in various stages of mid-life crisis (look at all of the nu-metal clothing and shit they've worn over the past few years, it's hilarious). In this scenario though, Portnoy has been out-douched, and really this is the kinda crap that kills a band.

Well Dev must have a pree good relationship with the Soilwork boys producing Natural Born Chaos (one of my all time fav albums) and Dirk is one amazing facking drummer IMO so this should be a droolfest

I think Mike left DT because A7X has more money in it. He's always been pretty greedy.

I find it so funny that he's now a permanent member of A7X.

Well, that's a choice I didn't see coming, nor understand. He has plenty of talent to not have to settle for those guys. Maybe he's attracted to annoying singers?
