As the title suggests:

How much time do you spend listening to music?

Not how much of your day is there music going on while you do stuff? How much time do you spend listening to music?

actually listening. Concentrating on nothing else but the music.

When I was a teenager it was pretty much all my waking hours I wasn't asleep or at school.

When i did it professionally obviously I listened to the music i was working on a great deal but the amount of time I really listened to other music as opposed to checking it out probably dropped considerably, although there was more of it.

Now, having come back to music in a big way in later life, i have a lot of time demands - children, work, livestock etc and sneaking an hour to do nothing but listen to music is like an awful guilty pleasure.

Focuses the musical mind though. I have been getting up at 5AM since its been summer, dealing with all the chores, then having an hour of pure music indulgence before getting everyone up for breakfast.

So... how much time do you spend listening to music?

Well considering my job forces me to drive around all day long, I'd say around 4 hours a day at minimum. Having my ipod with me while I work is great. When I grab lunch I usually eat in my truck so I can listen to music while eating.

But that's also a combo of listening and driving, but I do tend to actually listen whilst driving. I've noticed that a good listening session while driving has exposed nuances in music I didnt notice before(even when slowing it down). This is for songs I've learned on guitar of course.

I pretty much listen to music whenever possible and I do it a lot while doing other things. Whenever I get on my bike to even go to the store or something, I put my headphones on. Same goes to school trips on bus etc. Also, as I am working now, I listen to music there whenever possible.

But to say how much time I devote to music alone, I don't know if it's that much I always have music on when I'm on PC, but even then I'm doing something else at the same time. The times when I just lay down and listen to an album throughout aren't that numerous. Maybe once or twice a week. I simply don't have time to do that more often.
