That wasn't my point. I hate journalists who discredit great musicians because of their ignorance at their ability, while trying to come off as 'smart'.

i know but while we are on this subject im saying that i love programmed drums. reviewers seem to have a hatred for them even if they work extremely well for certain bands.

btw brilliant drumming

Drum machines should only ever be used if they sound NOTHING like real drums... Example - Agoraphobic Nosebleed

I realise this has little relation to the topic being discussed.

Being a reviewer, it's sad to say that most "reviewers" out there are horrible. Even those that can write (most can't) are usually bad. Music "journalism" has become the static equivalent of hearing ones self talk. And these turds love it. Oh, and don't expect these anti-trendsters to actually ever go against the trend:

Lars is an asshole and can't play the drums.
In Flames is nu-metal now. And gay.
Faith No More is the worst rapcore band ever.
Serj Tankian and those System Of Down faggots hate America.
First post!
Every modern alt-rock band sucks, but somehow Alter Bridge is amazing.
Coheed & Cambria is awesome "prog-metal" (haha!).

And so on and so on.

Well, in defense of this reviewer, you can't sit here and argue that Pitchshifter doesn't have serious industrial (i.e. processed) sounds in their music. If the drums have the tones of programmed drums and the music has a heavy industrial flavor, is it hard to believe someone might feel like the drums are programmed?

Except they weren't reviewing pitchshifter. The drummer just happens to be in pitchshifter.
