I'm wondering if there's anyone from England that can help me out.

I'm headed to your wonderful country for the first time on Sunday, and I'll be staying in Wimborne (not really even sure where that is) for two weeks, which includes new years. So I'm wondering: what's up in London on new years? My wonderful woman and I have never been to England, but are interested in something a little less on touristy side, and we really have no ideas on where to look for such things. Any ideas?

There's going to be tons of things going on in London this Xmas. You'll want to check out Oxford street which is this huge stretch of shops. And youmight want to check out Trafalgar Square new years eve.

Camden Town market is a must as all sorts are on offer and it's quite an alternative little area of London.

Not sure what non-touristy things you had in mind, to be honest. I've not checked up on gigs or anything.
